Emergency appointment

We have a small number of emergency appointments at the GP surgery

You can enquire by calling 01922 624 605 (during surgery opening hours).

For urgent advice you can call 111, 24 hours a day (including when the surgery is closed).

You can see a health professional at walk-in centres for urgent problems which are not life- threatening. No appointment required.

    If you have multiple problems, please book a double appointment or another appointment.

Out of hours and emergencies

  • We have a small number of same-day emergency appointment available in the surgery.

    We have a dedicated slot everyday for vulnerable patients (including patients over the age of 75). Please call the surgery (during surgery opening hours) on 01922 624 605 to book.

  • You can see a health professional at walk-in centres for urgent problems which are not life- threatening. No appointment required.

  • Some appointments will be available on evenings and at weekends.

    The appointments will be between 6.30pm and 8.00pm Monday to Friday, and between 9.00am and 5.00pm on Saturdays. This is provided by the South1PCN.

  • Local pharmacies offer many of the same services local GPs do.

    Your local pharmacy can provide confidential, expert advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses. They have private consultation rooms and you don’t need to make an appointment.

  • If you have a dentist: Contact that practice directly for advice. If the practice is closed, an answering machine message will provide details of how to access treatment urgent care.

    If you do not have a dentist: For those who do not have a regular dentist, there is a dedicated urgent dental service in Walsall called the Dental Access Centre and at Scott Arms Dental Practice. They see people with dental pain or swelling, normally on the same day and provides urgent dental treatment only.

    The Dental Access Centre based at Blakenall Village Centre, Bloxwich WS3 1LZ operates an urgent dental service including the weekend and bank holidays (this includes Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year’s Day). Scott Arms Dental Practice is available by calling 0121 357 5000 to make an emergency appointment.

    The standard NHS emergency fee of £21.60 applies unless you are entitled to free NHS dental treatment.

    Call NHS 111 for more advice and times. Don’t contact your GP, as they won’t be able to offer emergency or out-of-hours dental care.

    If you’re in pain while waiting to see a dentist, NHS 111 can also offer other self care advice.

  • Everyday we have some emergency appointments on the day. These appointments cannot be pre-booked and are only available on the day to deal with urgent problems only.

  • If you need to book a routine appointment with a particular GP, you can make an appointment in advance.

    Please phone after 10.30am to avoid busy times.

    If you suffer with chronic conditions, t is important to continue your regular check-ups, even if you are feeling well. Routine appointments are available during normal surgery hours with the practice nurse, paramedic or doctor.

Home Visits

Home visits are reserved for bedbound or housebound patients within our catchment area, who are unable to come to the surgery.
